OPAL SUCHATA WINS 72nd MISS WORLD

Thailand Celebrates Historic Victory as Opal Suchata Chuangsri Wins 72nd Miss World Title

In a landmark achievement for Thailand's pageantry history, Suchata "Opal" Chuangsri was crowned Miss World 2025 during the 72nd edition of the pageant held on May 31 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. This victory marks Thailand's first-ever Miss World crown, a momentous milestone for the nation.

Born in Phuket in 2003, Opal is a trilingual political science student at Thammasat University, fluent in Thai, English, and Chinese. Her journey to the crown has been marked by resilience and dedication. At 16, she underwent surgery to remove a benign breast tumor, an experience that inspired her to launch the "Opal For Her" campaign. This initiative focuses on breast health awareness and early detection, aiming to empower women across Thailand.

Opal's win is especially significant considering Thailand's previous best performance at Miss World was in 2018, when Nicolene Limsnukan secured the first runner-up position. Opal's triumph not only surpasses this achievement but also ends a long-standing quest for the crown.
Her victory is a testament to her commitment to social causes, academic excellence, and the embodiment of the Miss World organization's "Beauty with a Purpose" ethos. As Thailand celebrates this historic win, Opal's reign is poised to inspire and bring attention to important health issues, reflecting the transformative power of pageantry.
