A MOMENT OF TRUCE AT BASATA TOWARDS MISS UNIVERSE TANZANIA 2025

The National Arts Council, widely recognized by its Swahili acronym Basata, has officially granted approval to international model and former beauty queen Millen Happiness Magese to organize the Miss Universe Tanzania 2025 pageant. The event will be managed through her company, Millen Privé & Co. Lifestyle, which specializes in bespoke luxury lifestyle and hospitality services.

With the council’s endorsement, Magese is set to lead the prestigious event in Dar es Salaam, backed by key stakeholders from Tanzania's beauty and fashion sectors. Among the notable supporters is Miss Universe Tanzania 2024, Judith Ngussa.

Speaking in Dar es Salaam, Basata Executive Secretary Dr. Kedmon Mapana confirmed the council’s full support for Magese, noting that the decision aligns with Basata's mandate to promote the country’s creative and beauty industries.

Dr. Mapana praised Magese for her commitment to her homeland despite residing in the United States. “We are proud of Millen Happiness Magese, who has shown unwavering dedication to giving back to her country. Her decision to return and invest in Tanzania’s development is highly commendable,” he said.

Expressing confidence in her capabilities, Dr. Mapana added, “We believe she has what it takes to lead this initiative, and as a nation, we look forward to seeing a Tanzanian representative at Miss Universe through this platform.”

He also emphasized that the Miss Universe pageant goes beyond physical beauty, highlighting the council’s decision to issue an official code of ethics to guide the pageant’s organization.
