According to her statement, the mistreatment came from fellow contestants representing the United States and Vietnam. Olivia claims the incidents occurred repeatedly throughout the duration of the event and included physical intimidation, verbal aggression, and even having stones thrown at her during a private moment between the three individuals.
During a post-event interview, Olivia was asked about her thoughts and feelings when she was seen interacting with the US and Vietnam delegates. In response, she detailed her experience, stating in both Spanish and English that the two contestants consistently intimidated her during their stay. She expressed the pain and confusion she endured, saying she was hurt, pushed, and had objects thrown at her. She explained that while she didn’t fully understand what to expect, she found some comfort knowing that others within the organization were aware of what was happening behind the scenes. Olivia also reflected on her lack of a national franchise, suggesting that this may have contributed to how the situation was handled or perceived.
