NYEKACHI DOUGLAS DENIED ENTRY AT MISS UNIVERSE NIGERIA

*Nyekachi Douglas Denied Entry by Miss Universe Nigeria Despite Legacy*

Nyekachi Douglas, widely known as Miss Nigeria 2019 and one of Nigeria’s most iconic beauty queens, has reportedly been denied entry into the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 competition by the organizing body. The news emerged after Nyekachi shared a video expressing her disappointment over the rejection, sparking conversations and confusion among fans about the rationale behind the decision.

Nyekachi, who rose to continental fame after being crowned Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) 2019, represented the country at the Miss World pageant in New York. There, she excelled impressively—winning Miss World Top Model, being among the winners of the Beauty With a Purpose challenge, and finishing in the Top 5. She was officially crowned Miss World Africa, while Miss Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica won the Miss World crown in the same year.

Due to the global disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Nyekachi retained the Miss World Africa title for an extended period, making her the longest-serving holder of that continental crown.
Her recent attempt to join Miss Universe Nigeria has drawn public attention not only because of her strong pageant résumé but also due to the emotional response she gave on social media, reflecting the difficulty of being turned away despite her previous achievements.

The Miss Universe Nigeria organization has not yet released a public statement explaining the basis for her rejection.
