THE LOOK COMPANY LIMITED HAS BEEN REVOKED A LICENSE TO ORGANIZE MISS TANZANIA

The National Arts Council (BASATA) has officially revoked the license of The Look Company Limited to organize the Miss Tanzania pageant.

This decision follows the company’s repeated failure to comply with lawful directives issued by the Council, despite having received official notices through letters Ref. No. AE/90/90/03/16 dated April 15, 2025, and AE/90/90/03/19 dated May 9, 2025.

The main reasons for the license revocation include:

1. Failure to renew its permit to conduct artistic activities for over six months without valid justification, contrary to Regulation 39(g) of the 2018 BASATA regulations.

2. Defying the Council’s order by not submitting essential documents such as a valid license or certificate to participate in international competitions, in violation of Regulations 39(f), 37(2)(a), and 36(2).

3. Failure to organize the Miss Tanzania competition for the 2023/2024 period and not presenting a national representative for the global pageant in 2024/2025, again without any valid reason, which contravenes Regulation 39(i).

In line with Regulation 40(2) of the BASATA Regulations of 2018, the company has been deemed unfit to continue managing the pageant.

However, The Look Company Limited reserves the right to appeal to the responsible Minister within 21 days from the date of receiving this notification.

BASATA remains committed to enforcing laws, regulations, and procedures in the creative industry to safeguard the integrity and effectiveness of national competitions like Miss Tanzania.
