In August 2024, Magdalene Takangiro rose to prominence as she claimed the title of Miss Grand Kenya, following her not being placed at Miss Universe. However, during her coronation, it was officially announced that she would not compete at the Miss Grand International competition that year, instead representing Kenya as a delegate the following year.
Despite expectations, Magdalene has since shifted her focus from pageantry to her burgeoning modeling career, casting doubt on her participation as a representative for Kenya at Miss Grand International.
Meanwhile, the license for Miss Grand Kenya was previously been handed over to Tanveen Lanez, who also owns The Face of Kenya Pageant and holds the license for Miss Eco International. This shift has raised concerns, as the license of Miss Grand Kenya for this year has yet to be renewed.
Our Sources from within Kenya suggest that some pageant queens are considering legal action against Mr. Tanveen Lanez, with unconfirmed allegations circulating. Details of these allegations will be revealed in the next edition.
